While traveling in Bulgaria I was very surprised by the well shaped green, cultivated fields that embraced the hills until the horizon. Suddenly a red field appeared in between the green fields. It was the first time I saw so many red poppies together. I was very much impressed. While moving , I tried with a very fast sketch to capture the shapes of the fields. The colours were stuck in my mind. Finaly when all the information was collected in the studio a simple, geometrical and expressive work was created. The most emphasis was given to the fine shapes, the different tones of green combined with their primary color.
